    Edirne'deki isitme engellier ilkogretim okulu projemiz hizla ilerliyor. CYDD Edirne subesi ile birlikte yuruttugumuz bu calismada farkli bir bicim izleyerek BTF olarak Misyonlarimizdan onemli biri olan 'Genc Liderler' yetistirmeye basliyoruz. Bu projede gorev alan Trakya Universitesi ogrencileri geclerimiz kollarini sivadilar. Okul muduru ve ogretmenlerle yaptiklari gorusmeler sonucunda bir ihtiyac listesi cikardilar. Bu listeye gore okulumuza 12 Adet Akilli tahta ve Projeksiyon makinalari  ve fotokopi makinsai lazim. Gencler bu projenin liderleri olarak  Akilli Tahtalar konusunda kendilerini egitme ve isitme engelli kardeslerini daha iyi anlamaya calismakla basladilar. Egitimleri ve projenin ilerleyen safhalarinda kendileri sizlerle bilgi ve tecrubelerini paylasacaklar. Bu genclerimiz Projenin yonetiminde  tam yetkili ve insiyatif sahibidirler. Biz sadece kendilerine yonderlik yapacagiz.

AYSUN Kayacý'nýn televizyon programýnda, "Benim oyum ile daðdaki çobanýn oyu neden bir olsun" itirazýný dile getirmesi, dün de iþaret ettiðim gibi bizim ülkemiz için eðlenceli bir tartýþma konusu yarattý.

Dünkü gazetelerde AKP Genel Baþkan Yardýmcýsý Dengir Mir Mehmet Fýrat'ýn, Kayacý'ya "edepsiz" dediði haberi vardý.

Fýrat, bu topraklarda çok tutulan hamasi bir nutuk da atýyor: "Bizim dedelerimizin þehit olmasýyla, vatan için canlarýný vermesiyle bu topraklar üzerinde yaþama imkánýna kavuþtun!"

Tabii Fýrat Bey'in, Aysun Haným'ýn dedesinin Kurtuluþ Savaþý sýrasýnda ne yaptýðýný bilebilmesine olanak yok. Yan gelip yattý mý, yoksa elde silah vatan savunmasýna katýldý mý? Eðer düzenli ordunun içinde yer almadýysa bunu tespit edebilmek olanaksýz.

Bildiðimiz bir þey var ama: Ýngiliz kýþkýrtmasýyla 1925'te Cumhuriyet'e karþý bir Ýslamcý-Kürtçü ayaklanmasý baþlatan Þeyh Said, Fýrat Bey'in dedesi oluyor.

Yani "dedelerimiz" meselesini kaþýmak, Fýrat Bey açýsýndan pek hoþ olmayabilir.

Öte yandan bu "benim oyum, kimin oyuna eþittir" sorusu da Fýrat Bey için can sýkýcý olabilir.

Kendisi Adana milletvekili ve geçen seçimde o bölgede 916 bin 591 geçerli oy vardý. Adana'da bir milletvekili seçmek için 65 bin 470 oy gerekiyordu.

Fýrat Bey, Ýzmir'de milletvekili seçilebilmek için 86 bin 996 oya ihtiyaç duyacaktý. Ýstanbul'dan girseydi 82 bin oy almasý gerekiyordu.

Elbette Þýrnak'tan da seçime girip 41 bin 74 oy ile seçilebilirdi. Ben Aðrý'yý önerirdim kendisine, orada 32 bin 734 oy, bir milletvekili seçti. Yani Türk demokrasisinde durum biraz karýþýk!

"Bir oy" her yerde "bir oy" etmeyebiliyor.

Ve küçücük bir kýzcaðýza bu kadar saldýrmak, sadece onun mankenlik geçmiþinden ve güzelliðinden dem vurarak "aptal sarýþýn" muamelesi yapmak, o kadar da doðru bir þey deðil. Herkesin söz söyleme ve düþündüðünü açýklama hakký yok mu?

Bize garip de gelse bir fikrini açýkladý diye bir insana "edepsiz" demek, demokrasi fikrinin neresine sýðýyor?

BÝR yandan bakýyoruz Adalet ve Kalkýnma Partisi (AKP) hakkýnda Anayasa Mahkemesi'nde açýlan dava tabii seyrinde ilerliyor.

Nitekim dün "davanýn kabul edilmesine" oybirliðiyle karar verdiler.

Gerisi de usul ne ise ona göre yürüyecek.

"Seçmenden yüzde 47 oy alan parti kapatýlamaz" diyenler de, "Bu saatten sonra Türkiye'de parti kapatma olmaz" diyenler de kuzu kuzu davanýn sonunu bekleyecek.

Onlara beklemeleri gerektiðini öðreteceðiz de Avrupa Birliði'nin sözcülerine aðýzlarýný tutmayý nasýl öðreteceðiz, o belli deðil.

Son yýllarda iyice tadýný kaçýrdýklarý, "Kaþýnýzý kaldýrýrsanýz AB'ye giremezsiniz"; "Bakýþýnýz yumuþak olmazsa müzakereler sekteye uðrar" türü ipe sapa gelmez tehditlerinden býktýðýmýzý hálá anlamamýþ olmalýlar ki son olarak Yargýtay Baþsavcýsý'nýn açtýðý davaya taktýlar. Onunla kalmayýp baðýmsýzlýðýný tartýþamadýklarý Anayasa Mahkemesi'ni baský altýna alan demeçler verdiler.

Her konuya nane olan -kendisi eniþtemizdir- Türkiye-AB Karma Parlamento Komisyonu Eþbaþkaný Joost Lagendijk Bey'e göre, "Türkiye'de siyasi sürece yargý darbesi yapýlýyor"muþ. "Yargý, halkýn çoðunluðunun seçimine yanlýþ diyor"muþ. "Bu hiçbir þekilde kabul edilemez"miþ.

Türkiye'de ne olup bittiðini bunlar dürbünün tersiyle mi izliyor?

Bir defa kimse "yüzde 47'nin seçtiðini" tartýþmýyor. Ýkincisi "siyasi sürece yargý darbesi yapmak" ne demek? Bu adam Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin yargý sistemini hiçbir hukuk devletinin ve haysiyet sahibi hiçbir devlet adamýnýn kabul edemeyeceði kadar aðýr þekilde suçluyor ve bu devleti yönetenler "Haddini bil efendi!" demeye gerek duymuyor.

Bakýyorsunuz Avrupa Parlamentosu adýna Türkiye hakkýnda rapor hazýrlayan Hollandalý parlamenter Ria Oomen-Ruijten Haným, Joost Bey'den geri kalmamýþ. O da "TBMM üçte iki çoðunlukla 'üniversitelerde baþörtüsünün serbest býrakýlmasýna' karar veriyor, fakat uygulanmýyor. Ben dünyada böyle baþka bir ülke bilmiyorum" buyurmuþ.

Bu hanýma biri, "Kendisini iktidara getiren Anayasa'nýn temel ilkelerinin ve ona dayalý rejimin altýný oyan hiçbir iktidar gördün mü?" diye sormalý. "Avusturya'da kendinize göre aþýrý saðcý bulduðunuz Jörg Haider'in koalisyon ortaðý olmasýna bile tahammül edemeyen siz deðil miydiniz? Haider'e o oyu Avusturya halký deðil de patatesler mi vermiþti?" demeli. "HAMAS'a oy veren Filistinlilerin oylarý hangi demokrasiye göre oy sayýlmýyor söyler misiniz?" diye sormalý.

Son olarak aba altýndan sopa gösterme rolünü AB'nin "geniþleme"sinden sorumlu komiseri Olli Rehn oynadý. Açýkça söylemiyor ama "dava kapatma ile sonuçlanýr da Tayyip Erdoðan'a siyasi yasak konursa, müzakere sürecini gözden geçirmeye mecbur kalabilirler"miþ.

Demek Avrupa Birliði'ndeki dostlarýmýz (!?) üzülmesinler diye, Türkiye'yi "Türkiye" yapan temel deðerlerin altýnýn oyulmasýna ses çýkarmayacaðýz. Böyle bir tehlikeyi yok sayacaðýz. Sonra da onlar bize, "Türkiye'nin hukuk devleti ilkelerini tam olarak uygulamasý ve hukukun üstünlüðüne saygý göstermesi önemlidir" dediklerinde samimiyetlerine inanacaðýz.

Dr. Hakan Kaya Selected as Faculty Member of The Center for Biomedical Continuing Education
 
(March 26, 2008, Spokane, WA) – Across the nation, patients living with multiple myeloma will benefit from Dr. Hakan Kaya, a medical oncologist at Cancer Care Northwest. Dr. Kaya has been selected as a faculty member of the Center for Biomedical Continuing Education (CBCE), an accredited provider of continuing medical education, and will be educating physicians nationwide about the latest and most effective multiple myeloma treatment options. 

Cancer Care Northwest is one of two community-based cancer centers in the nation that are represented on the 52-person faculty. The remaining faculty members are from major academy institutions including the Mayo Clinic, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Stanford University School of Medicine, Harvard University and more.
 
"To see Cancer Care Northwest, Spokane's own cancer center, listed among these prestigious institutes is truly an honor. We provide the same level of expertise and care to cancer patients in the region," Dr. Kaya said.
 
Multiple Myeloma is not a rare cancer. At any one time there are more than 100,000 myeloma patients undergoing treatment for their disease in the U.S. Treatment options for multiple myeloma had not really changed until the early 2000s but since then, new drugs and treatment options have emerged rapidly.
 
 "As a specialist in multiple myeloma, I am passionate about sharing the latest research studies and best treatment options for this disease with physicians in the Northwest and beyond. There is just so much to know about multiple myeloma and treatment options change all the time." Dr. Kaya said.
 
Multiple myeloma is cancer of the bone marrow cells. Although myeloma cannot be cured, it may be controlled and patients may enjoy many years of quality life if they are treated. Current treatment options range from chemotherapy, novel agents or a stem cell transplant. Educating physicians about multiple myeloma treatment options is critical in helping their patients live an enjoyable, productive life.
 
In addition to educating physicians about myeloma, Dr. Kaya, the region's only physician with formal stem cell transplant fellowship training, directs the Inland Northwest Myeloma/Lymphoma & Transplant Program which was formed to serve patients who live in Eastern Washington, North Idaho and Western Montana. High dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation is used to treat patients with multiple myeloma, Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and acute myelogenous leukemia. 
 
The stem cells that are collected from patients in Spokane are very different from the often controversial field of stem cell research where stem cells are harvested from umbilical cords. When a patient with myeloma or other blood cancer is referred to Dr. Kaya, he collects and temporarily stores the patient's own stem cells by utilizing a machine which is similar to a dialysis machine. He then treats the patient with high dose chemotherapy to kill all of the remaining cancer cells. The patient's own stem cells are re-infused to replace the bone marrow which has been killed by high dose chemotherapy. To date, Dr. Kaya has already performed 20 stem cell transplants since the foundation of the program 2.5 years ago.
 
Vicki Jones, a patient who received the stem cell transplant under the care of Dr. Kaya, is thankful for this program.
 
"I actually received a second opinion from a well-known cancer center in Seattle. My husband and I found it very cold and impersonal. We were very fortunate that Dr. Kaya could provide the same treatment in Spokane."
 
Dr. Kaya's other transplant-patients agree.
 
"My patients always tell me how wonderful it is to have this program in Spokane. It really helps that they can be close to home, recovering with the support of their families and friends close by."

European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn stepped up criticism on Saturday of an attempt by Turkish state prosecutors to close the ruling AKP, saying it could jeopardise Ankara's EU entry talks, in a news conference after EU foreign ministers met with Turkish FM Ali Babacan. OK, so the title stinks of cheese, I know, I’ve got writers block. I suppose you could say that Istanbul is where east meets west, and that therefore the old cliche is true. Yet Istanbul lacked a magic for me that I had expected and hoped for, yes the kebabs got cheaper and were no longer made of pork, the people got more charming and had swapped iced cappuccinos for chai. My bizarre preconceived images of snake charmers, ottoman bazaars and a sudden abundance of rutted and potholed roads were not met in the slightest. Perhaps it was a result of driving to Turkey, that the culture change was less sudden and more gradual , but the city is like any other European city, albeit with more mosques and a lower quality of road etiquette. Nobody was wearing a fez."

The modern Turkish culture is a fusion of different cultures. This may alia, the alttürkische nomadic culture of Central Asia and Siberia, the culture in the Ottoman Empire, with its Arab, Byzantine and Persian influences, and the strong European direction since the founding of the Republic by
Atatürk counted. The cultural center of the country is the metropolis Istanbul.
The vast majority of the Turkish population Approximately 98%, belongs to the ISLAM (Muslims). Of these, approximately 60% Sunni, and the remaining 30-35% Alevis. According to other estimates, there are 70-75% Sunni and 20 to 25% Alevis. In addition to live in Turkey, 0.2% Christian (125,000) and 0.04% of Jews (23,000)."
