![]() |
![]() The court decision is the first to be filed against the Google brand in Turkey. The ban doesn't block the access to search domain, Google.com, but prevents access to the subdomain extension, groups.google.com. Users attempting to use the service are presented with an official warning that reads, "Access to this site has been suspended in accordance with decision no: 2008/15 of T.C. Silivri 2.Civil Court of First Instance." Google Turkey has not yet commented on the ban. Last month, a Turkish court in Istanbul ruled to close the popular YouTube website citing that insulting Ataturk, founder of the modern Turkey, were being broadcast on the site. |
