Dear Colleagues,

Turkish American Scientists and Scholars Association (TASSA)  is holding an information meeting/reception on Friday, March 14th  at 7:00pm at the Türkevi, 821 UN Plaza (46th Street and 1st Avenue), New
York, NY 10017. Please RSVP by Thursday, March 13th  by email to  Aylin Sagay,  TASSA Executive Director ed@tassausa.org.

TASSA envisions establishing a sustainable science bridge between the United States of America and Turkey for the purpose of facilitating the advancement of science in both countries via scientific and scholarly exchange.  Established in June 2004 as an independent, non-profit and non-political organization, TASSA promotes educational, scientific, and technological networking and collaboration between the two countries.  TASSA conferences create a forum for many young and experienced American, Turkish, and Turkish-American scientists to explore and develop new collaborative and synergistic initiatives. Previous three annual TASSA conferences brought together prominent scientists and scholars from leading Turkish and American institutions, as well as policy makers in science and education. They provided a venue for strengthening and enhancing the scientific and technological cooperation between the United States and Turkey.
TASSA will hold its 4th annual conference on April 11-13, 2008 at Harvard Medical School Conference Center, Boston, USA. This year's conference theme is "Innovation as Driver for Social Transformation and Economic Growth."  TASSA'08 will feature many distinguished as well as young speakers.  The meeting is organized to include keynotes, interactive discussion panels, a forum where young Turkish scholars will meet university presidents and CEOs from Turkey, workshops, various types of meet-and-greet sessions, an exhibit and a stakeholders' fair. The objective is to create a dynamic platform for many young and experienced American, Turkish, and Turkish-American scientists and scholars to develop and explore new collaborative initiatives, thereby strengthening and enhancing the scientific and technological cooperation between the United States and Turkey.  For more information about TASSA and the TASSA'08 program, please visit our website at http://www.tassausa.org
