Colleagues,

I am excited to tell you about a unique NSF sponsored workshop on Women
in Industrial Engineering Academia.

It will take place this July 7 through 11 in Turkey, a country noted
for its progress in attracting and retaining women to engineering,
including academia.

This workshop will focus on issues and interaction for current and
aspiring women academics in IE and related disciplines. It is a timely
and exciting opportunity to meet and network with peers from around the
U.S. and across the Middle East. The Workshop website has complete
details and is

We have several NSF sponsored travel stipends (which will cover all
costs of attendance) to award to junior tenure track faculty members.

We also have a few travel stipends for Ph.D. students who aspire to a
career in academia. The Ph.D. students must be U.S. citizens or
permanent residents.

Interested applicants should fill out the Online Registration (found at
the Workshop website) and upload their C.V. And, anyone interested can
contact me directly for more information.

This is an event which we anticipate will have a positive effect on IE
academia, both here and abroad. Please share this message with anyone
you think would be interested.

Alice Smith
