2008 is the election year. We, TURKISH-AMERICANS, have to remain
alert and keep educating members of the Congress on this and many
other issues that we care about. Most importantly, we have to show
our own political representatives that we EXIST and that we are a
force to be reckoned with.

genocide. An Armenian American is running against her in the

and it is important for the Turkish American community to support her.

As you know TAAF(Turkish American Allience for Fairness) is
organizing a fundraising dinner for Congressman Robert Wexler on
February 20th. Congressman Wexler is the co-founder and co-chairman
of the Congressional Turkish Caucus and a strong supporter of US-
Turkish relations. He has, along with his co-chair of the Caucus
Congressman Whitfield, introduced a resolution condemning PKK
terrorism. Congressman Wexler leads the charge in opposing the
Armenian genocide resolution. Unfortunately, the Armenian American
diaspora has put him on their black list because he opposed the
H.Res.106. Therefore, it is most important to make sure that Rep.
Wexler has our support and is re-elected next year.
The dinner will be served in a private room at Sultana restaurant
between 8.00-10.00pm. You will have the chance to meet Congressman
Wexler in person, ask your questions, make your comments and get
acquinted with him. Please RSVP to me before February 15th.
