Dear Friends,
Below please find information about the documentary film "Beyond Belief". This film discusses the issues and conditions of women in Afghanistan and I thought the members of Daughters of Ataturk would find it interesting. It will be showing in New York City and Boston beginning February 29, 2008.
My son Evren Celimli composed the music for the soundtrack. His website is www.evrencelimli.com. More information about the film can be found in the message below which was written by the director and producer of the film, a woman named Beth Murphy.
Thank you,
Suleyman Celimli

Dear Friends,

I'm excited to share the news:  "Beyond Belief" is making a limited theatrical run!  In Boston, the film will premiere at the Museum of Fine Arts.  There will be a special screening with reception on February 16, and the film officially opens at the MFA March 1st.  In New York, the film opens at the Cinema Village Theater on February 29th (tickets available on February 20th). See full schedule below.

It's so hard for me to believe that it has been more than 3 years since we started filming, and I'm so proud of Susan Retik and Patti Quigley for allowing their powerful story of shared humanity to be told.  They were ordinary moms living their American dream until their husbands were killed by terrorists.   Grief could have compelled them inwards.  Instead, it motivated them to travel to Afghanistan to help empower Afghan widows whose lives have been ravaged by decades of war, poverty and oppression -- factors they consider to be the root causes of terrorism.

I hope you will join us for a screening, and share this message with your friends and family.

Best,
Beth Murphy
