Hatirlatayim,

O zaman adiniz Seyma Celik Arsel idi. Demek ki hangi konuyu hangi
isminizle actiginizin hesabini tutamiyorsunuz. Yoksa, kendi
kendinizle de tartisiyor ve alkis ta tutuyor musunuz?

Hani su Deniz Gezmis mektubunu ilk yollayan e-mail adresinizden
tartismistik. Ozelimizden devam ettigimiz yazismalari da sakladim,
onlari da gonderebilirim. Sizin bana ders vermeye kalktiginiz diger
yazisma asagida:

Dear Fatma,

I suggest that you read books by Islamic Scholars. Unfortunately all
religions are dogmas and are expected to remain as they are and are
closed to all renovations.

For instance you could read the books of Prof. Ýlhan Arsel, or Arif
Tekin, or Turan Dursun on Islam. Or Bertrand Russe and Voltaire on
religions. Then after having read them if you still feel like
critisizing Arzu, then do so but with information based on facts.

Subject: [Daughters_of_Ataturk] Mosque Opponent Arzu Toker

Arzu Toker appears very immature to me.

She says; "There is not a single verse in the Quran that sets out the
requirement of a mosque. Muslims could just as well pray in a park,
for example."

There is nothing written in the Bible that a Church is necessary is
there, or a Synagouge for that matter? But, all religions have
shrines. I personally, would not want to bend in a park to pray.
There are plenty of Muslims living in Germany, so they should be
allowed to build a mosque there. In Turkey, Christian priests are
assigned to ancient churches even at places where they have no
congregation. There are only 60,000 Armenians, and yet 2,500
Armenian Churches. There are only 6,000 Greek Orthodox living in
Turkey, and yet they wish to keep the world's universal ecumenical
partriarchal leader in Turkey. This is ridicilous. Either she is a
bigoted Christian, or she is a brainwashed Turkey hater.

Arzu Toker says; "Five times a day, one is called to prayer with the
words "There is only one Allah and Mohammed is his prophet." The call
to prayer is thus necessarily tied to the negation of Christianity."

I do not think Christianity is negated by the above words in the
Islamic call to prayer. On the contrary, all prophets, tall written
books and all religions are accepted in the Qur'an. However, some
Christian priests do not accept Islamism as a religion. Many still
consider it a splinter belief. Ms. Arzu Toker sounds like an -d-ot.
Bilgi sahibi olmadan fikir sahibi olmus.

She could say that she opposes women's oppression in the name of
religion, usage of megaphones for the call to prayer, and to
conservatism but she looses her right to pass a judgement after
calling herself an ex- Muslim. I bet you, only ultra religious
Christians are encouraging her, but she is not aware of it. How can
any unbiased person oppose other people's belief, let it be true
Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Budhaism, Hinduism, Confuchian, or any
religion at all? She has to respect the organized religions as much
as she respects nature and atheism.
