Five Years of War -- It's Time for New Priorities
Attend a "New Priorities" Vigil!
On the 5th anniversary of the war in Iraq, we'll honor the fallen and
call on our leaders to stop squandering billions on war and start
investing here at home instead. Click here to find a March 19 "New

March 19 is the 5th anniversary of the tragic invasion and occupation
of Iraq. Nearly 4,000 American soldiers -- and many more Iraqis --
have lost their lives due to Bush's Iraq debacle. Billions of dollars
have been, and continue to be, squandered on this occupation. Our
economy is suffering because of it, but the resources we need to turn
it around are funding more bloodshed in Iraq.
So this year, CREDO Action and our partners at MoveOn.org are marking
the anniversary by sponsoring hundreds of "New Priorities" vigils
across the country. We'll honor the fallen, and call for an end to the
war. But we'll also send a new message to the politicians in
Washington: to heal our ailing economy, we need to end the occupation
in Iraq.

In addition to these nationwide vigils, our friends at United for
Peace and Justice are organizing a massive day of creative, nonviolent
action and civil disobedience in Washington, DC -- also on March 19.
Among the actions to choose from are a blockade of the IRS, disruption
of the war profiteers in the K Street Corridor, a veterans march for
peace, a "kick the oil addiction" Critical Mass bike ride, an
anti-torture demonstration, a march on the DNC headquarters, and more.

Justice March 19 day of actions in Washington, DC.
Whether in your own community or in Washington, DC, please come out
and join a vigil or an action so that we can make our voices heard. We
must remind our local communities and the nation of the terrible cost
of the occupation of Iraq and force our leaders to start bringing our
troops home and start investing resources here instead.
Thank you for working to build a better world.
