Dear margaret,Thank you very much for the response.. However, I am not satisfied.. Please look at the actual photograph of Hagia Sophia given in the attachment and compare it with the one that the artist has painted.. perhaps the artist may want to consider revising his painting.Best regards.Yuksel oktay__________________________________February 20, 2008
Dear Mr. Oktay:
Thank you for contacting American Airlines Customer Relations. I am pleased to have the opportunity to respond.
Thank you for your email regarding the artwork at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK). We appreciate the significance the mural has for you and others. It is a very unique piece of artwork for many reasons. Still, it is art and we cannot instruct the artist to alter his work.
Mr. Oktay, thank for taking the time to write to us. We look forward to welcoming you aboard.
Sincerely,
Margaret R. Addison

Dear Customer Relations Administrator
American Airlines,

JFK Airport, New York, NY
During a recent visit to the American Airlines terminal at JFK Airport, I noticed the large mural on the wall, showing most of the world's famous landmark buildings. The Empire State Building, The Seattle Needle, the Australian Opera House are among the perhaps 101 structures from around the world that most people would recognize. Among these is the 1,500 year old Aya Sofya Museum, known in the West as the Hagia Sophia. It was built by Byzantium Emperor Justinan in 536 AD, converted to a Mosque in 1453 after Constantinople was captured by the Ottoman Turks, and made a Museum by the first President and founder of Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, in 1935.
When the church was converted to a Mosque, 4 minarets were added that gives the building its striking apperance, as shown in the attached phograph.. However, the painting of the building in the huge American Airlines Departure Lounge mural lacks these minarets, thus denying the viewers the true version of the structure, which was a runner-up in the ''New 7 Wonders of the World'' contest last year.
Therefore, as a constant traveler, including with American Airlines, it is respectfully requested that the magnificient Aya Sofya be restored as soon as possible..
Thank you for your consideration.
