April 23, 2008

The Honorable President George W. Bush:

I am a Turkish American. I would like you to stop the Armenian aggression, terrorism, and protest against Turkish Americans and the Turkish nation in this country.

Tomorrow is April 24th, and you will commemorate their sufferings during World War I. Why only Armenians? Their loss was not 1,500,000 people because during the Ottoman Empire 1,200,000 Armenians lived in Turkish lands. Their collaborations with the enemy such as Russia, France, and later on Greeks, they were forced to relocate. Some went to Russia, France, some to Lebanon, and United States. How could there be 1.5 million Armenians killed during the mandatory deportation. This was the only solution to stop Armenian massacres towards innocent people. First president of Independent Armenia, HOVANNES KATCHAZNOUNI (July 1918-August 1919) stated: "We made a big mistake by joining the invading nations against Turks, overestimated Armenian power by seeking external causes for our misfortune, underestimating the power of Turks. This was the fundamental error". Millions of Turks were forced to relocate   from the Balkans and all other Ottoman lands during the crumbling of the empire. Turks were at war. Many lost their lives. Between 1911 and 1918, 5 million Turkish people were killed. According to the British historian Andrew Mango, "The real victims of WW1 were the Turks." Every nation lost lives during WW1. Another example: According to 109 years old WW1 Veteran Harry Patch, about 20 million people died and 21 million were wounded during the war. He did not believe the casualties were justified. He also said

"I met someone from the German side and we both shared the same opinion: we fought, we finished and we were friends. It was not worth it." Acknowledging only the Armenian sufferings is the distortion of the historical facts, not a fair statement.

As a Turkish American, I live with the Armenian aggression and propaganda against me, and against Turkey every day. Turkish-American community had a very hard time during the week of April 2nd  here in Florida. Florida Atlantic University (FAU) brought an Armenian Professor from University of California for two lectures (Apr. 2nd and 6th) on so-called Armenian genocide. Many Americans with Armenian and Turkish descent listened to the speaker with patience. The speaker compared the so-called genocide to the Holocaust which is not acceptable by us. As you know Holocaust was against innocent people who had no guilt other than their identity; moving Armenians from Anatolia was for Armenian Revolt, Muslim killings and crime against their own government.

The speaker also displayed a map claiming Eastern Turkey to be Western Armenia. Unfortunately, as it happens all the time, one of the FAU officials (Dr.Alan Berger)  and Prof. Hovannissian did not even bother with questions and comments from the audience. Turkish-Americans  were insulted by the aggressive Armenians. This is not very democratic, is it? This shows one thing; with their money they can buy the media, government officials and universities. It seems like corruption in our democratic system. "Money Talks."

It is shameful that our tax dollars are supporting this unfair propaganda against us!
