March 3, 2008 â€" The Wilson Center Southeast Europe Project hosted a panel, “Developments in the Politics of the Kurdish Question in Turkey.” Speakers were panel moderator, Henri Barkey, Chair, Department of International Relations, Lehigh University; Aliza Marcus, Author of 'Blood and Belief: The PKK and the Kurdish Fight for Independence'; Nicole Watts, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, San Francisco State University; and, Gokhan Cetinsaya, Fellow, Woodrow Wilson Center. The Wilson Center SEP is headed by John Sitilides, who folded the Greece-oriented Western Policy Center into SEP two years ago."

Mentioned among the topnotch dance groups thanks to its achievements during the world tours, Fire of Anatolia Dance Group was in Paris this time for the promotion works of the EXPO 2015 candidacy of Izmir. Aziz Kocaoglu, Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was also in the audience along with Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE) delegates who will participate in the voting in the evening of March 31 that will determine the host country for EXPO 2015. Fire of Anatolia Dance Group that comprises of 70 dancers, of which the art direction is made by Mustafa Erdogan, fascinated the viewers with hundreds of folk dance routines originated from mythological and cultural history that dates back to thousands of years and compiled from all the regions of Turkey. With live performances before a total number of audiences in 40 countries ranging from Egyptian pyramids to Madison Square Garden in New York, Ukraine, China, Siberia, and to Japan, Fire of Anatolia Dance Group invitations were rushed for weeks before the show."
